For the duration of this year's Waterloo Festival, Storyradio will be our resident storytellers. With a story every two weeks, starting today (Saturday 2nd May), Storyradio will be producing this creative series with a Waterloo theme.
The first feature story is The Vulnerable (click here to listen!). An encounter with a girl begging on the street proves hard to escape from a short story by Waterloo-based novelist, Martin Nathan, read by actor Simon Balcon.
Watch out for the next episode, coming up on 16th May: ‘Persepolis’ by Miki Lentin.
Martin Nathan has worked as a labourer, showman, pancake chef, fire technician, and a railway engineer. His short fiction has been published by Tangent Press, HCE and Grist and his poetry has appeared inFinished Creatures,Erbacce and Aesthetica. His novel – A Place of Safety is published by Salt Publishing.
Simon Balcon is a local actor who has performed in a wide range of stage roles.
